Summer Solstice Weekend is here and it was a pretty hectic day for me. Filmed for about 5-6 hours and on my feet the whole time filming dope looking cars. Met some old friends I knew back in the day and got to meet some new people for possible future networking. Either way it was a fun time filming all these cars and I had a lot of fun editing this video. I love seeing different types of stuff and just making use of my noggin to make it match with the music and seeing how and what I could do to make the footage usable and so forth.
This time I used my Zhiyun Crane V2 for the whole time and my Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 and I love it since I didn't have to adjust the F stop every time I would be closer in the shot to 16mm and then move my lens back to 11mm. That constant 2.8 made it really nice. Also one bad thing would be the Non-IS but with it being so wide, I can just use the warp stabilizer in Premier to make the footage useable enough.
One qualm I would have about the Zhiyun Crane is when I was using it the whole time my arm would get tired fast! Mind you I'm using the 80D with 11-16mm lens and the Crane itself. That is about 8-10lbs total for recording nice shots. I could of used it handheld with my 18-135 with IS. But I needed more practice with using my crane and the small jitters were not too much of a problem when the camera was moving. Main point of this is I need practice with using my gimbal and I'll try to make use of it as much as possible. That way I can know it's limitations and my limitations on the gear I use.
Anyways enough of this rant. If you want to see the video from this weekend just check out the link HERE!
